Dear Players, Parents, Supporters and Sponsors
On behalf on the entire EBJFC committee we are pleased to unveil our new webpage. Like our club this web page is set to grow!
There have been many new developments over the off season and your committee is committed to providing the best experience for our families. The East Burwood Football Club is immensely proud of our history but equally determined to ensuring a prosperous future. This has seen our committee grow where we now have 16 active members contributing their time and talents to promoting and developing the Junior Club. I am pleased to welcome Marc Mullarvey and Karen Warner who have recently joined the committee.
I am pleased to report that we have new sponsors joining our list of loyal corporate supporters. We welcome The Groove Train, Recreation Fitness, Sports Safe Mouthguards, Mason Black Lawyers and Piccolinos Pizza to our club as well as acknowledging the continuing support of East Burwood Travel, Vodafone and East Burwood Cricket Club. We encourage our families to support these businesses who are contributing to our club.
This web page was built by one of our hard working committee members – Anna Alfirenko. We thank Anna for her work but also acknowledge all the other volunteers who have contributed during the off season. We have new merchandise, a new Director of Coaching ( Sean Kavanagh ), an increased playing roster, a strategic plan focussing on the future and most importantly a club that focusses on family. This is our objective for the future.
I received a phone call during the week from the AFL confirming that the Junior Club will be the recipient of $ 500 worth of footballs courtesy of Josh Gibson from Hawthorn kicking a “super goal” in the NAB challenge. Many junior players from East Burwood have gone on to the AFL over the years and we encourage players like Robbie Gray ( Port Adelaide ) and Nathan Grima ( North Melbourne ) to kick long and straight to help our club !!!
You will see a number of changes to the website in the coming weeks as we welcome feedback from our families. I wish all teams the best of luck for the season ahead and hope you all enjoy your football and journey with the club.
Go Rams
Andy Worner
