Rams Netball

The East Burwood RAMS Netball team was established in 2015.

The girls first season was successful winning all but 1 game. The “San Antonio Spurs” like grey, black and white uniform has attracted much attention from other netballers and spectators up at Sport Link, and the girls are making the Rams Sporting Club proud with their fabulous skills but more importantly, sportsmanship.

Seniors

The East Burwood RAMS Senior Netball Club was established in 2019 in the Friday night EFNL Competition. President, Lisa Blenheim and head-coach Claire van Dreumel founded the senior netball club with a vision to create a community for women to access sport in conjunction with the East Burwood junior and senior footballers.

The club experienced much success during their inaugural season, entering two teams in the Eastern Football League Netball competition. East Burwood Black, competed in the Premier Division for the first time. Under the guidance of Claire and captain Lisa, East Burwood Black finished second on the ladder and competed in the Grand Final, unfortunately falling short. East Burwood Grey, a newly formed team, competed in Section 3. Under the guidance of captain Sam Timms, they recorded 5 wins.

In 2021, the club has grown to four teams and have found a partnership with ModiBodi to support our ever-growing community of women. We continue to strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes gender equality, women in sport and awareness for issues which effect women in our community.

Vision

It is the vision of the East Burwood Senior Netball group to create a culture and community which promotes keeping women involved in sport. We aim to provide an accessible and enjoyable platform for women of all ages. We strive to foster an inclusive and supportive environment that showcases the strength of local women and aim to act as role models for the greater female community.
