Vale – Neil McNeill
The East Burwood Football Netball Club is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Neil McNeill on 29 June.
Neil holds a special place in our club’s history as the coach of East Burwood’s 1965 Senior Premiership, before returning to coach the senior side again in 1966.
His leadership and contribution during that era remain an important part of our club’s proud history.
A highly respected football man, Neil’s career spanned many clubs, including Boronia, Gembrook, and Yackandandah.
He also fulfilled the dream of playing at the highest level, representing South Melbourne in the VFL.
Neil’s dedication to Australian football, both as a player and coach, left a lasting impact on the many clubs and people fortunate enough to know him.
On behalf of everyone at the East Burwood Football Netball Club, we extend our sincere condolences to the McNeill family and Neil’s many friends. Our thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.
