Round 4 Review

Or should I say round 3ish? When you check out the Round 3 results for the 19s (Premier started a week later than div 3) you well actually see the results listed for their game on the day of our Round 1 season opener. The 19s have been bumped off the top of the ladder by Nobel Park who had a very decent win against Surrey Park, which was enough to gave them top spot by about 8%.

It’s also round 3 for Netball, and the situation has been cleared up on the whole div 1 / premier games thing that confused me last week. Each one has only 5 teams, but instead of a team having a bye each week in each of those divisions, those two teams play each other instead. Makes sense! The Premier team lost to Boronia 43 – 51 and the Div 1 team had a nice win over Scoresby. Whitehorse got the win over the Div 3 girls and Mitcham also got the win over the Div 6 team.

Back to Round 4 footy action on Sunday the U15s had 33 point win over Mooroolbark with Jonty Sinclair booting 5 majors! The U13B team had a 6.8.44 – 6.8.44 draw against Ferntree Gully who came back hard in the last qtr to even the game. The U13Ds had a comfortable win over Blackburn by 42 points with Cooper Busch bagging 6 of their 8 goals! The U12s had a 70 point loss to East Ringwood. An undermanned  U11s also lost to Chirside Park buy just 9 points 6.2.38 to 7.5.47 with Max T getting 3 and Hunter 2. If you know U11 kids who want to play footy, we really need them today. Please ask around. I’m sure the U10 did great against Endeavour Hills as did the U9s against Montrose.

With post round 4 grading happening, we don’t yet know the makeup of the next round, so keep an eye on the newsletters and efnl.org.au web site as well.

The East Burwood Football Club is proud to be partnering with LifeConnect to introduce a suicide prevention program to our playing group. Banter with Balls promotes authentic relationship building amongst men, designed by blokes for blokes. By committing to have real conversations, we can all play our part in community capacity building and suicide prevention. Thank You to Sam Thomson from LifeConnect for visiting the club and introducing the program to the players last Thursday night.
